Job Summary: The Rock Dining Finance and Accounting Internship provides paid training per week in a strategic, operational and administrative management role in the Accounting Department. Because this department supports Dining Services, the intern also gains valuable exposure to administrative, operational, retail and board plan management for Dining Services. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain real-world experience and on-the-job training for accounting while getting exposure to careers in the dining services area.


Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Count incoming deposit bags received from units
  • Prepare change orders for the units
  • Count and maintain the balance of the accounting safe and petty cash fund on a daily basis to ensure all safes are correct
  • Reporting cash sales from units into weekly sales report
  • Reporting weekly sales from the franchise brands
  • Post incoming checks to the accounts receivable spreadsheet and maintain copies of the invoices with the checks once payment is received
  • Assist in making calls to departments on campus concerning past-due accounts receivables 
  • Key in invoices using the Manager’s Toolkit/Accounts Payable System
  • Ensure all invoices are paid on time
  • Make calls to the unit managers to make sure all invoices for the week have been turned in
  • Complete wage verification forms
  • Assist with processing and distributing payroll
  • Coordinate the ordering, receiving, posting, distribution and if necessary, the return of slip-resistant footwear
  • Must be able to produce spreadsheets reflecting sales on a monthly basis
  • Set up new vendors as needed
  • Maintain a professional image
  • Additional Job Functions:
  • Special accounting projects as needed
  • Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the ARAMARK management team.


  • Prior administrative experience preferred 
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of up to 25 lbs.
