    Description

    Position Summary: The Medical Device Technician is responsible for cleaning, inventorying, performing minor maintenance, and redistributing medical equipment throughout the facility. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. 

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Cleans, delivers, and performs minor maintenance on distribution medical equipment according to the department policies and procedures
    • Follows established department procedures to accurately verify and deliver the proper equipment by visually checking department requests and obtaining a verbal verification as needed
    • Delivers and/or sets up required equipment at various patient care areas throughout the hospital in a safe and efficient manner
    • Reports to the nursing unit and notifies nursing staff of equipment being delivered and/or pickup up and records delivery and/or pick up
    • Initiates or assists in transfer process of equipment from or to the Distribution department
    • Performs basic operational checks on all equipment made ready for distribution, including preventative maintenance as needed
    • Adheres to the established policies addressing the confidentiality of patient information
    • Displays positive working relations with team members and customers throughout the hospital, communicating positively and appropriately
    • Maintains knowledge of all equipment and related skills
    • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

     

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a Medical Device Technician or in a related role required
    • Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrates organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
    • Must follow safety procedures and OSHA standards due to exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infections materials
    • Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of equipment up to 100 lbs.
    • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of equipment over 100 lbs.
    • Must be able to work a 3pm to 7pm position.
    • Must be able to work weekends.
