    Position Summary: To maintain the radio system of Denali Park Resorts and Doyon/ARAMARK Joint Venture.  This consists of over 100 mobile radios, about 100 portable and mobile public address units, and several base stations.  There are repeaters including two mountaintop repeaters accessible only by hiking or helicopter.  Position requires the ability to see interactions in the overall system “from above” and to facilitate effective communication, as well as the ability to research and plan unique communication projects.


    Essential Functions:

    • Service and maintain a trunked and repeated VHF system, and associated UHF repeaters on 3 FCC licenses, consisting of approximately 200 units (base stations, land mobile, and handheld) and power supplies and antennas associated with them:  troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair
    • Organization of the radio shop:  Documentation of radio distribution, stock inventory, parts ordering, FCC compliance paperwork, filing of handbooks, manuals and schematics
    • Liaise with NPS on any issues that may be of mutual concern:  intermodulation distortion, improper use, antenna placement, etc.
    • Installation and maintenance of on-board GPS systems
    • Install, service, and maintain the Video and PA systems aboard 75+ buses
    • Service and maintain stationary Public Address systems on Aramark properties
    • Employee is responsible for general knowledge of corporate environmental policies and procedures and how they relate to their job functions.  Corporate policies and procedures are posted on bulletin boards or can be accessed at dpr.web
    • Employee is responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position.  Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by Dept. Managers during EMS training
    • Environmental objectives and targets will be communicated by dept. managers for each dept. during EMS training
    • Employee will have no less than 1 performance review per season to include an evaluation of performance standards as they relate to work instructions addressing their department’s environmental aspects.  Employee will be aware of environmental objectives and targets within their department and how the objectives and targets affect their job performance
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Understanding of radio-electronics, vhf transceivers, repeaters;  hands-on experience in repair of electronic equipment
    • Good soldering practices and knowledge of test equipment are essential
    • Technician Class Amateur Radio License would be desirable
    • Prefer Associate Degree in Electronics, or Second Class FCC Commercial License or General Class Amateur Radio License or one year on the job in two-way repair
    • Ability to lift heavy objects
    • Knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures
    • Knowledge of safety requirements
    • Ability to make needed repairs as required
    • Ability to drive service truck
    • Ability to replace major assemblies and components without supervision
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
