Description: Press Dining Attendants are responsible for overseeing media and staff buffets in the Kinnick Stadium Press Box during University of Iowa Home football games, including set up, service, and break down.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare service area for function, including front of house buffet area, and stocking back of house with all necessary items
  • Maintain levels of food, beverage, and paper products throughout the event
  • Display excellent customer service and maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance
  • Maintain a “clean as you go” work environment to ensure a positive guest experience; thoroughly complete cleaning checklist at end of shift
  • Assist in completing inventory logs for items stocked in work area
  • Complete temperature logs for items being held in hot and cold holding
  • Display excellent customer service and maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance
  • Works in other areas or departments as needed

Hours of employment:

  • Game day schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.  This is a part time position and hours vary by event and season. Must be available to work University of Iowa home football games.

Qualifications


  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions
    • Must be able to work well with little supervision
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
    • Complete a sanitation course either before or first day
    • Must be able to walk/stand for majority of shift
    • Willing to accept change, new procedures, and constructive comments
    • Ability to build relationships with guests and co-workers
    • Demonstrated organizational skills to improve efficiency
    • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, meet production/service time schedules, and adapt to necessary and unforeseen changes
    Experience:
    • One year experience in a food service/banquet setting preferred
    • Serv-Safe certification a plus
